This Week at FCCPA

Holy Week and Easter:

Palm Sunday, April 13: Children who would like to participate in our Palm Procession are invited to gather at 9:50 in our Social Hall before worship.

Lectionary Bible Study on Monday: From 7:00-8:00 pm, you are invited to a conversation about John 20:1-18 in the Embarcadero Library.

Lenten Vespers Service on Tuesday: Join us for meditation and quiet reflection from 7:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in our sanctuary. The music, led by Joe Guthrie, features traditional plainsong and piano reflections.

Contemplative Prayer on Wednesday: From noon to 12:30, you are invited to a time of silent prayer in the narthex.

Maundy Thursday, April 17: All are invited to gather for a simple soup supper prepared by our Worship Board at 6:30 p.m. in our Social Hall, followed by Communion and a traditional service of Tenebrae at 7:30 in the sanctuary.

Good Friday: We will have a time of prayer, singing, reflection and lament beneath the cross from noon to 1:00 p.m.  The Sanctuary will remain open for quiet prayer until 3:00.


Easter Sunday, April 20

Sunrise Service at 7:30 a.m. led by Daniel Ross-Jones in our new Memorial Garden.

Festival Worship at 9:30 & 11:00 a.m. with the Oxford Street Brass, Children’s Choirs, Chancel Choir, the Hallelujah Chorus, and David Howell preaching.

Sunday School for preschool and kindergarten will be held during the 9:30 service. Easter Egg Hunt following the 9:30 a.m. service

 

The David Show Spring Musical: More than 70 children and youth from our church and community will present “The David Show”, with stories from the life of King David, on April 25, 26 & 27 at 7:00 p.m. in our Social Hall. Tickets are available after worship starting this Sunday. 

 

April 18 Breaking Bread Hot Meals Noon Meal Service: Our next Breaking Bread Hot Meals service will be on Good Friday, April 18. If you are interested in joining a team that prepares and serves food for 75, please contact Alan Stivers.  We work between 9 am and 1 pm, but if that is too long for you consider volunteering for just two hours. We need the most help between 11 am and 1 pm.
