Our New Letourneau Organ, Op. 101
After 103 years of faithful service, our current instrument had once again reached a point requiring costly repairs. A committee was formed in 2003 to evaluate the situation. After months of education and consideration, a recommendation was made to replace the old organ with a new pipe organ, which was approved by the congregation. The committee received designs from 5 builders and unanimously chose Orgues Letourneau of Quebec.
The instrument's two cases were designed in collaboration with John Miller Architects and is a significant element in the church's redesigned chancel. The instrument of 49 stops (voices) of an eclectic nature are played from a movable three manual console. Sanctuary remodeling began in May 2006, and the installation was completed in May 2007.
